Plant care:

Many new coleus introductions branch so well that they develop excellent form without any pinching at all. They do well in light conditions ranging from full sun to mid-shade. They perform best in evenly moist, fertile soil, although once they are established, they tolerate some drought, making them excellent choices for mixed containers.

Planting ideas:

• Mass several coleus plants together to provide bold color in the shade garden.
• Combine coleus with other annuals that produce beautiful foliage for an elegant container. One good combination is coleus, acorus, duranta and ipomoea. Another is coleus, sedum, colocasia and heuchera.
• Use coleus to complement flowering annuals in containers. Try coleus with ageratum, petunia and argyranthemum.
